Synopsis        :

It tells the tale of the demon (or djinni) Bartimaeus and his complex relationship with his master Nathanial a.k.a John Mandrake. Set in London during the days of ‘the Empire and the rebellion in America’, the trilogy has three main protagonists- Bartimaeus(the djinni), his master Nathanial(the magician) and Kitty Jones(the commoner). The djinni’s quest for freedom, the magician’s thirst for power and the commoner’s fight against oppression results in a tale filled with magic, humor and action.

Plus Points    :  The wit of Bartimaeus, the diplomacy of Nathanial and the courage of Kitty Jones. Also do not forget to read Bartimaeus’ remarks given at the bottom of each page.

Remark: There are stories that can only be enjoyed by reading them. This is definitely one of them.

Who should read this: Anyone who loves suspense, action, magic, humor, philosophy, alternate history and so on.
